All advertisements must be approved by The Hosting Guide before being placed on our network of sites. We reserve the right to reject any insertion order, graphic, text description or URL. Below are guidelines regarding advertising material.

  • Ads should not appear to be part of The Hosting Guide's content rather than an advertisement.
  • Ads should be encased in a border. If border less, an ad must contain the advertiser's name to signify that it is an ad banner, not content. (Blending is not allowed.)
  • Ads may never use any portion of the The Hosting Guide brand name to imply affiliation with or an endorsement by The Hosting Guide whether a The Hosting Guide product, content or service unless such a relationship exists.
  • Ads may not use The Hosting Guide branding - logos or proprietary images from The Hosting Guide within an ad banner.
  • Advertisements cannot solicit or collect, or appear to solicit or collect, any personally identifiable information from The Hosting Guide's users.
  • Advertisements cannot mimic news headlines in design, tone, 3rd person sentence structure, or topic.
  • After clicking on any ad unit, users must be able to return to The Hosting Guide by clicking on the browser's "Back" button. Any destination URL's that result in the "trap door" effect (e.g., the user can not return to The Hosting Guide by clicking the browser's "Back" button), are not permitted.
  • Within standard banner, skyscraper and big ad units ad animation of any form can run for a maximum of 30 seconds without being re-initiated by the user.
  • Free-form overlay ads (DHTML) must include a prominently visible close button and run a maximum of 10 seconds.
  • For all ad types and creative, only sound that is user-initiated will be accepted. All creative must include a prominently visible on/off switch for sound.
  • Mouse-over interaction with an ad within a page can only provoke ad interaction within the current open browser window and cannot link a user to a new Web site.
  • The following list describes some of the kinds of advertising that we will not accept:
    -
Ads that contain fraudulent, deceptive or misleading statements or illustrations. Attacks of a personal nature.
    -  Ads that are overly competitive or that refer abusively to the goods or services of others.
Ads that do not comply with applicable federal, state and local laws and regulations.
Indecent, vulgar, suggestive or other ads that, in our opinion, may be offensive to good taste.
